KC alumni chapter meets Santa

Earlier this month, the TCU Alumni Chapter in Kansas City welcomed Santa Claus himself for a cookie decorating holiday party at Hallbrook Country Club in Leawood, Kan. Sixty-four Horned Frogs greeted the Jolly Old Elf as children wrote and shared  wish list letters, colored and had their photo taken with St. Nick. Frog families got into the Christmas mood but took a break to flash some TCU spirit, too. (Photo courtesy Katie O'Hara)

Big Frog fan at the Fort Worth Zoo

Fort Worth Star-Telegram photo editor Ben Noey Jr. '83 photographed and shared this image with us of Iggy, the iguana that sits on top of the Fort Worth Zoo administration building. While he's no Texas horned lizard, this big guy is 40 feet long and has been a Frog fan all football season, proudly displaying a TCU pennant for motorists to see on University Drive.

Iggy was created by Austin artist Bob Wade and has made his home on top of the zoo since 2010.

TCU alumna debuting choreography in Fort Worth

Mercyhurst College assistant professor of dance Christine Marie Hay '94 ('99 MFA) will debut original choreography this week in the Ballet Concerto production of "A Holiday Special," a Fort Worth December tradition, at Will Rogers Auditorium.

Hay, a frequent choreographer for Ballet Concerto productions, will present "Princess and the Magical Christmas Star" at 10 a.m. on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. The morning performances will be attended by about 5,000 students from Fort Worth Independent School District and surrounding areas as a field trip. It is open to the public as well.

Nightly performances will include a reenactment of the nativity in "O Holy Night" by Adolph Adam (composer of the music of ballet "Giselle") as well as a "Hannukah Flamenco." The Charles Duke Singers will join the dancers with caroling.

Ballet Concerto is guided under the artistic direction of Margo Dean and Webster Dean, well-known Fort Worth dance instructors.

Prior to teaching at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pa., Hay spent two years as Ballet Mistress of the Orlando Ballet under the artistic direction of the late Fernando Bujones. Her professional career included performing as a member of Ballet West, Atlanta Ballet, Tampa Ballet and Louisville Ballet.  She has been principal dancer for Ballet Concerto and featured dancer at Casa Manana Summer Musicals.

FTDM student shoots time-lapse of TCU-Oklahoma

Harley Davison Grady '13
, a TCU Film-TV-Digital Media student, shot this time-lapse video of game day at Amon G. Carter Stadium Saturday for the TCU-Oklahoma matchup. Awesome work!

He also shot this magnificent fish-eye panorama of the stadium.

Additionally, Grady shoots a lot of time-lapse astrophotography and videography. Impressive, fascinating stuff.

(And yes, his middle name is slightly different than the motorcycle maker's. But we bet he goes someplace with his talents and that name!)
