Our favorite "American Idol" alum Tim Halperin '10 performed as the opening act at a free concert yesterday at BB Kings Blues Club in New York City to raise awareness about bullying. Other performers included YouTube sensations Megan & Liz and pop superstars Hot Chelle Rae.
Halperin beat out more than 600 entrants in a songwriting contest sponsored by OurStage.com for the opportunity to open the Band Against Bullying show.
"I'm beyond stoked to have won," Halperin said. "I'm honored to share the stage with these incredibly talented groups and look forward to performing my original music. This is an amazing opportunity for me and my music."
The Band Against Bullying contest is presented by Secret Mean Stinks through a partnership with OurStage.com and Akoo.
