U.S. Army officers 1st Lt. Drew Mayer (left) and 1st Lt. James Starcher '09 show off a TCU flag at Contingency Operations Base in Basra, Iraq. The two are from different units and randomly encountered one another in the chow hall in the fall of 2010. Both strong Horned Frog fans, they decided to take this photo during the football team's 13-0 Rose Bowl season. At the time, they were both 2nd lieutenants.
